Boarding School Exchange at Lake Mary Preparatory School

Lake Mary Preparatory School was founded in 1999 and has since taken fostered personal and academic achievement, a global perspective, and strength of character in each of its students from Pre-K to Grade 12. Here, students are shaped into exceptional innovators, critical thinkers, and leaders sought after by some of the nation’s top universities.

At Lake Mary Prep, you will find a global learning community dedicated to the success of students that is unlike any other in Central Florida. Students take part in exciting international opportunities, including international travel and internships, problem-solving classes, student exchange programs, and international sports and fine arts jamborees.

You’ll be a part of an exciting community of 515 students. All boarding students are international students between grades 7-12, who make up about 15% of the student body and represent 20+ different countries. This means that you not only get to experience the American culture, but also cultures from around the world.

Fill your time outside of the classroom with a selection of 14 sports, a wide variety of clubs and extracurricular activities, explorations of the 48-acre campus, and weekend excursions and activities. To top it all off, Lake Mary Prep is conveniently located just outside of Orlando, Florida. Here, you’re only a 30-minute drive away from some of the most popular attractions that the area has to offer, like Universal Studio and Disney World!

ACADEMICS

Lake Mary Prep believes that creative expression and personal growth are key factors for success—therefore, classes are entertaining and challenging for teachers and students alike.

What sets Lake Mary Prep apart from other schools is the one-on-one support that teachers and administrators offer to students both academically and socially. Therefore, classes consist of 13-15 students.

UNIQUE PROGRAMS

At Lake Mary’s unique Makerspace, students can push the boundaries of creativity while incorporating STEAM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) with tools such as 3D printers, laser cutter/engravers, and interactive displays. Students also have access to CAD and Graphic Design software and other unique resources.

Every weekend, there are a variety of well-organized trips designed to provide students with exciting ways to socialize and to develop friendships while exploring the various cities around them. Annual Thanksgiving and Spring Break trips are included in the tuition.
