Totino-Grace has an emphasis on service opportunities, and students like to volunteer. The school works with homeless shelters, schools, senior centers, etc. to give back to the community and also has travel opportunities to volunteer around the United States.
ACADEMICS
SUBJECTS
Totino-Grace offers a wide variety of courses to meet the diverse needs and interests of the students. Specific courses are required and students may select from a available elective courses to complete the academic expectations for their grade level.
The Totino-Grace curriculum is designed to develop specific skills, concepts and thought processes, and to broaden students’ base of knowledge. At the same time, students are able to choose electives allowing them to explore and develop their own interests and talents as well as prepare them to meet future goals.

Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses are designed to meet the needs of the most capable and highly motivated students by providing a more rigorous and challenging curriculum. Totino-Grace offers 18 Honors courses in English, Mathematics, Music, Religion, Science and World Language. Honors and AP courses are similar to one another in academic rigor, but different from one another in that the AP courses follow a prescribed curriculum dictated by the College Board. Totino-Grace offers 15 AP courses and exams in Art, English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and World Languages. AP courses give students the opportunity to pursue college-level studies while still in high school and to receive advanced placement and credit upon entering college.
UNIQUE PROGRAMS
The Totino-Grace Engineering Institute will intellectually engage and challenge students with a rigorous curriculum that includes coursework focused on engineering, as well as exposure to the field of engineering through program components occurring outside of the classroom. Here is just a short list of skills that you will develop as a part of the E3 Institute:

The Kathleen Murphy Scholars Program is designed to meet the needs of the highest performing students and to intellectually challenge them not only in the classroom but also through enrichment activities consistent with the school’s mission. The intention is to give the students in the Murphy Scholars Program the opportunity to enhance their education through a program with special enrichment experiences. Academically talented students in tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade pursue a rigorous course of study, participate in extracurricular activities, and satisfy their intellectual curiosity through cultural enrichment experiences.
THE BOARDING EXPERIENCE
The school’s dormitory is connected right to the school, so students are always fully immersed and have easy access to everything they need. The Dorm Director and RAs live on site 24/7 with the students, and take them on weekend adventures so they can explore the local area. Minnesota is a great state to live! The state has many lakes, parks, and outdoor activities. The city is enriched with culture, providing many good museums, shops, concerts, and events.

The athletic program at Totino-Grace is student-centered and an integral part of the student’s total educational experience. SPARE TIME
After school, students go to practice or rehearsal for their clubs. This could be basketball games, musical practice, chess games, etc. They also do their homework/study. Dorm students eat dinner together. There is a game room in the dorm with ping pong, movies, gaming, billiards, fireplace, etc. They exercise, read, talk to friends, and do all the normal things teenagers do at home!
