Boarding School Exchange at
Lucton School
Lucton School
Founded in 1708, Lucton School is a thriving independent day and boarding school set in idyllic English countryside. Since its beginning, Lucton has striven to bring the best out of every individual student, recognising their unique gifts, talents and abilities. The schools aims to provide a secure, happy environment in which pupils can flourish, academically, socially, intellectually and physically.
Lucton believes in the recognition of personal achievement and high standards in all work and extracurricular activities. The school places considerable stress on self-discipline and the development of self-confidence and responsibility by individuals as they gain seniority. Small classes and a family atmosphere create a warm homely environment in which students feel accepted, valued and secure.
The school provides education to 380 students from 6 months to 18 years, though boarding is available to 7-18 year olds. In total, the Lucton boarding program hosts 78 students. Although predominantly a British Day school, Lucton has a thriving and global boarding community with 52 international students from all over the world.
Lucton is located on 55 acres in the beautiful countryside of North Herefordshire with stunning views towards the Welsh mountains and there is plenty to explore. Make friends with your fellow students with one or more of the school 35+ sports and extracurricular activities, relax on campus, or join the many different weekend activities offered!
ACADEMICS
Lucton provides a broad, challenging and stimulating range of academic subjects at all levels. This is supported by a rich programme of extra-curricular activities, lectures, conferences, and visits.
In its upper classes, Lucton aims to achieve a balance between the more rigid structures of school life and the impending university experience. The school offers a wide range of academic subjects whether your preparing for the British General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) in years 10 and 11 or your university preparatory A levels in years 12 and 13.
To the right, you’ll find a selection of Luctons course offerings on different levels. For a complete list and more information, see here.
